How to install a hydraulic piston pump in the fuel tank?

2023-06-02

Hydraulic piston pumps with a flow rate of 160L/min and above are not recommended to be installed on the fuel tank. Hydraulic piston pumps with a flow rate of 160L/min or less can be installed on the fuel tank, but the fuel tank cover must have sufficient rigidity. The precision (concentricity, verticality) of the hydraulic oil pump installed on the output shaft of the prime mover is 0.05mm. Before the trial run, the hydraulic oil pump must be filled with oil and kept full during operation. In order to reduce noise and improve the reliability of the hydraulic system, it is recommended that all hydraulic piston pumps be placed as low as possible in the oil tank to install the oil pump. It is not allowed to install a hydraulic filter in the oil inlet pipeline, and it is recommended that the system use the oil outlet or system oil return pipeline to filter.

1.Install the hydraulic oil pump vertically (the shaft end is upward)

Before installing the hydraulic oil pump, fill it with oil and make it in a horizontal position.

    (1) Install the hydraulic piston pump in the oil tank

a. When the lowest liquid level of the oil tank is higher than or equal to the mounting flange surface, block L of the hydraulic oil pump, and open L1 and oil inlet S. It is recommended to pipe according to Figure 1.

b. If the lowest liquid level of the oil tank is lower than the installation flange surface of the hydraulic oil pump, then close the oil drain port L, and the oil drain port L1 and the oil inlet S are connected according to Figure 2.

    (2) Install the hydraulic piston pump outside the fuel tank

Please place the oil pump in a horizontal position and fill it with oil before installation. If the hydraulic oil pump is installed above the oil tank, see Figure 2.

a. The minimum oil suction pressure of the hydraulic oil pump is Pmin=0.8bar under both static and dynamic conditions

b. When installing the hydraulic oil pump in this way, the maximum oil suction port height hmax =500mm; it depends on the resistance loss of the oil suction pipeline. When the resistance loss is large, the oil suction height should be as small as possible, and the minimum immersion depth of the oil suction port htmin =200mm.

    2. Install the hydraulic oil pump horizontally (shaft end level)

When installing the hydraulic oil pump horizontally, make sure that the drain port "L" or "L" is at the top.

   (1) Install the hydraulic piston pump in the oil tank

a. When the lowest liquid level of the oil tank is above the top of the hydraulic oil pump, block the oil drain port L1, see Figure 3 for the piping of the oil drain port "L" and the oil inlet port "S".

b. When the lowest level of the oil tank is lower than the top of the hydraulic oil pump, block the oil drain port L1. Refer to Figure 4 for the piping requirements of the oil drain port "L" and the oil inlet port "S". Note that tmin=200mm, m hydraulic pressure Oil pump x=500mm.

   (2) Install the hydraulic piston pump outside the fuel tank

Block the oil drain port "L" or "L" located below, and fill the oil pump casing with oil.

a. Install the hydraulic oil pump on the oil tank. Please refer to Figure 4 for the piping of the oil drain port L and the oil inlet port S.

b. If the hydraulic oil pump is installed under the oil tank, please refer to Figure 5 for the piping of the oil drain port L1 and the oil inlet port S.
